Hachinoya has been beloved for 74 years in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture. At Nagasaki Airport, enjoy the signature dish of European curry or other traditional tastes demonstrating the skills of the chefs, including Sasebo’s famous lemon steak. You can also buy the popular jumbo cream puffs, curry bread and chilled curry as souvenirs.

Lemon Steak
It is said that the “lemon steak” was conceived as a steak suitable for Japanese tastes in Sasebo, where a U.S. military base is located.
It is a “Sasebo specialty” that includes thin slices of beef topped with sukiyaki sauce and lemon juice.

Navy's Beef Stew
This is a reproduction of the beef stew that Togo Heihachiro, who served as the seventh commanding officer director of the Sasebo Naval District, is said to have liked to eat while he was studying in England. This is a rich and deep-tasting beef stew that is made by slowly simmering beef and vegetables.
